Hermann Oak Leather Belts

Leather from Hermann Oak Leather Co. has been trusted by craftsmen for well over a century.

Founded in St. Louis in 1881, Hermann Oak is known for producing some of the finest vegetable-tanned leather in the United States. Their hides are slowly pit-tanned using natural tree bark extracts, a traditional process that takes weeks but produces leather that is incredibly strong and durable.

Hermann Oak leather is typically thicker and firmer than many other belt leathers. Because of that, these belts have a noticeable break-in period when new. After a few weeks of wear, the leather begins to soften slightly while still maintaining the strength and structure that makes it ideal for belts.

Over time the leather develops a rich natural patina that only improves with age. Like most vegetable-tanned leather, it benefits from occasional conditioning. Applying a small amount of leather balm every few years helps keep the leather properly oiled and looking its best.

Each Noble Buffalo belt is cut by hand from full-grain Hermann Oak leather and finished with solid hardware, creating a belt designed to last for decades.
