About Noble Buffalo

Noble Buffalo is a one-man leathercraft shop dedicated to making durable, full-grain leather belts built for everyday wear. Established in 2019 and based in Saint Louis, Missouri, the workshop focuses on straightforward craftsmanship and practical leather goods designed to last for years.

Each belt is cut, edged, finished, and sized to order rather than pulled from mass-produced inventory. The goal is simple: make a belt that fits properly, feels solid in the hand, and holds up to daily use.

The belts are made from full-grain leather sourced from respected tanneries known for producing strong, dependable hides. Full-grain leather retains the natural fiber structure of the hide, giving the belt its strength while allowing it to break in comfortably and develop character over time. Unlike many belts made from bonded or heavily corrected leather, full-grain leather improves with wear and develops a rich patina.

Orders are sized individually to ensure a proper fit, and careful attention is given to edge finishing, hardware selection, and overall durability so each belt can age naturally with use.

Because Noble Buffalo is a one-person workshop, customers can also receive direct help when needed. This can include guidance on sizing, choosing the right leather, or working on projects such as matching the color of a belt to a favorite pair of leather boots.

Excellent leather belts

I purchased three belts from Noble Buffalo in March of 2025. A Classic English Bridle Leather Belt in Ebony Black and a Horween Chromexcel Leather Belt in Brown and one in Burgundy. All three in the standard 1.5" width.

I also asked to have the edge of all belts dyed or painted black.

I went with Noble Buffalo in part because I wanted leather belts made from a single piece of leather. No layers or pieces of leather glued together that separate with time.

All belts are of excellent quality and I expect I will wear them for decades. The black English bridle leather belt is more firm than the two Horween belts but I have been wearing it a few months and it is broken in nicely.

The buckles are all well-made, you can feel it in their weight, and I think they have a timeless, classic look.

I highly recommend Noble Buffalo and have to add that Ben was very helpful and provided excellent customer service. If you need a belt buy it from Noble Buffalo!
