This Dark Cherry Alligator Embossed Belt is handcrafted for you from a special-run Hermann Oak latigo leather in St. Louis, Missouri by Noble Buffalo. The deep red-brown color has rich tonal variation across the embossed surface, creating a refined appearance that changes subtly with the light. The alligator pattern is deeply set into the leather and has a smooth, substantial feel in the hand.
This is full-grain latigo steerhide embossed with an alligator pattern—it is not alligator leather. The embossing gives the belt the distinctive character of an exotic accessory while retaining the strength, structure, and practicality of premium American steerhide. The latigo finish also provides improved resistance to moisture, scratches, and outdoor wear.
Each belt is cut from a single 9–11 oz leather hide with no bonded layers, glue, filler, or decorative stitching. The edges are beveled, burnished, and finished with wax, while the back is carefully smoothed to prevent loose fibers from catching on your pants. The result is a clean, polished belt that feels as refined as it looks.
Choose between a 1.25" slim width or a 1.5" standard width. The 1.25" version is especially well suited for golf trousers, golf shorts, tailored chinos, and clubhouse wear. The 1.5" version creates a more substantial statement with chinos, five-pocket pants, premium denim, and elevated casual clothing.
Every belt is made to order and can be customized with your choice of a standard or roller buckle in brass, antique brass, matte black, nickel, or matte nickel. Optional 2-3 letter monogramming is also available in eight colors. Monogramming will replace the Noble Buffalo logo on the back of the belt strap.
A matching keychain can be cut from the same leather strap at the time your belt is made, creating the closest possible match in color, texture, and tonal variation. You may also add Noble Buffalo Leather Balm, handmade in our St. Louis workshop, to help maintain the leather’s rich color and polished appearance.

The steerhide is tanned by Hermann Oak in St. Louis, Missouri, one of America’s oldest continuously operating tanneries. Hermann Oak has produced premium vegetable-tanned leather since 1881 and remains known for its substantial, long-lasting leather and traditional American tanning methods.

This is one tough yet beautiful belt. I wore it with dress slack and dress jeans on a business trip for one full week before taking this picture of it on with an old pair of work pants. I love everything about it. I ordered the Thick Hermann Oak which is exactly what a big guy like me needs. Additionally, if anyone follows the instructions for Method #1 sizing, their belt will come delivered to the perfect size. I really appreciated those instructions. The belt fit perfectly, and Matte Black w/ Roller Bar is exactly what I need. I will be coming back for more and definitely recommending to others.

I used to purchase good, thick, quality belts when I was a kid and haven’t found them in a long time. This exactly what I used to get, but substantially better made. It will work for weekend activities as the leather is exceptional quality and be usable for work! Not cheap but it is worth every penny! Beautiful.

My order for this 1.5" Black Leather Belt was filled and shipped just as explained in the web site. I did the measurement just as was told and the belt fit perfect. I have 2 holes on either side of the buckle. I do recommend getting the square buckle with the roller as it keeps the belt flat and looking new. Great quality - might be the last black belt that I'll have to purchase! I would defiantly recommend Ben and Noble Buffalo for his fine work and integrity. I lover American products.
